Goleman, neuropsychologist and author of Social Intelligence: The New Science of Social Relationships, believes that all humans are “wired to connect.” Goleman’s research found that human skills are twice as important as IQ level and technical skills. Social empathy and emotional awareness results in more connected leaders, and in turn more success. The Rix Center understands the importance of Goleman’s findings and seeks to build upon developing leaders that develop positive relationships with the communities they work and live in.
