Brandt C. Louie, OBC, LLD, FCA, took the stage to a standing ovation at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver during The Vancouver Board of Trade’s sold-out Governors’ Banquet and 2011 Rix Center Awards, April 5.
Louie, chairman and CEO of H.Y. Louie Co. Ltd., and chairman of London Drugs Ltd., received the Rix Award for Engaged Community Citizenship for his community involvement. Also recognized was Vancity with the Rix Award for Engaged Corporate Citizenship.
Sue Paish, QC, immediate past chair 2009-10, The Vancouver Board of Trade, and CEO of Pharmasave Drugs (National) Ltd., was inducted into The Board’s Council of Governors.
Darcy Rezac, CD, was also recognized for his 24 years of service as managing director of The Board. Rezac official retired April 5.
“This award is never won by a single individual,” said Louie, who thanked his family, Board of Trade directors and governors, and his staff. “This is the accumulation of the work of a lot of people on your behalf… This award I will treasure for the rest of my life.”
